Portillo's Announces New Wrigleyville Location With First Walk-Up Window
Portillo's will open its fifth Chicago restaurant in the Wrigleyville neighborhood by 2027, featuring the company's first-ever walk-up window.
Portillo's Hot Dogs, LLC announced plans on July 15, 2026, to open a new restaurant at 3519 N. Clark Street in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago. Scheduled to open in 2027, the 4,600-square-foot venue will be the chain's fifth location within the city and its 46th in the Chicago metro area. The site is located within walking distance of Wrigley Field and is designed for high foot traffic using a smaller-format, inline prototype.
The new facility will accommodate over 60 dine-in guests and introduces the company's first-ever walk-up window for streamlined ordering and pickup. This expansion follows a corporate strategy reset to prioritize smaller-format and takeout-focused stores. The company also has another location currently under construction in the 300 block of North Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.
The announcement coincided with National Hot Dog Day and included a promotional pop-up event near the future site and a $1 hot dog offer for loyalty members nationwide. To mark the occasion, the company partnered with Vienna Beef to develop a limited-edition Char’diniera Dog.
