IndiGo Flight Returns to Goa After Engine Failure

An IndiGo flight traveling from Goa to Delhi made an emergency return to Manohar International Airport on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Flight 6E 2102 departed at 9:16 am but reported a technical issue shortly after takeoff, which one source identified as a mid-air engine failure.

Air Traffic Control declared a full emergency at approximately 9:30 am while the aircraft was at an altitude of 14,000 feet off the coast of southern Maharashtra. The pilots turned the plane back and landed safely on Runway 28 at 9:51 am. The emergency status was officially terminated at 10:03 am.

All passengers disembarked without injury. IndiGo stated that the pilots followed standard operating procedures and confirmed the aircraft is undergoing maintenance checks. The airline provided refreshments and alternative travel arrangements to minimize the inconvenience caused to the passengers.
