RJD Spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari Resigns Over Internal Humiliation

Mrityunjay Tiwari resigned from all Rashtriya Janata Dal posts on July 16, citing repeated insults and internal party dysfunction.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari resigned from all party positions on July 16, 2026. Tiwari submitted his resignation to State party president Mangani Lal Mandal and released a video announcing his departure, citing repeated humiliation and a lack of respect for loyal workers.

Tiwari alleged that internal elements, which he described as termites, are hollowing out the party. He urged Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav to introspect on the party's current direction and internal functioning. While expressing gratitude to RJD president Lalu Prasad for appointing him in 2014, Tiwari claimed that Prasad and Rabri Devi currently feel helpless.

Following the announcement, media speculation emerged regarding Tiwari joining the Bharatiya Janata Party or the NDA. Tiwari stated he would consult with his supporters before determining his political future.
