Logitech Unveils Sound-Steering Audio Systems for Conference Rooms

Logitech International announced the Rally Speaker 2 Pro and Max, using Sound Shape technology to direct audio to specific room areas without increasing volume.

Logitech International announced the Rally Speaker 2 Pro and Rally Speaker 2 Max, audio systems designed for large conference rooms and training environments. The hardware utilizes Sound Shape technology, which employs arrays of micro-drivers—32 in the Pro model and 64 in the Max model—to direct sound waves to specific areas of a room with precision rather than increasing overall volume.

This technology provides uniform sound coverage in rooms up to 12 meters and allows the delivery of different audio feeds to opposite sides of a room simultaneously. This capability is intended to support multilingual environments through collaborations with Microsoft Teams Interpreter and Zoom Meetings Voice Translator. The products are positioned as a simpler alternative to complex ceiling-mounted systems, marking the company's entry into the professional audio-visual market.

Karthik Rajagopal Narasimhan, head of VC Engineering at Logitech, explained that the system replaces the brute-force approach of increasing volume with wave-field physics to steer sound waves through open air. The speakers will be commercially available in summer 2027.
