OpenAI Annualized Revenue Approaches $70 Billion

OpenAI is approaching $70 billion in annualized recurring revenue, driven by a more than twofold increase in enterprise sales since July. The company's annualized revenue run rate has risen by over 70 percent since the start of the third quarter, and consumer revenue for that period has already exceeded the total generated in the previous year.

This growth has benefited Oracle, OpenAI's computing infrastructure partner, which saw its shares rise 5.3 percent. The financial surge comes as the broader AI sector continues to scale rapidly despite high costs.

Competitor Anthropic is preparing for an initial public offering while managing significant financial losses. Anthropic reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025, even as its revenue grew 12-fold to nearly $4.6 billion. The startup plans to invest $518 billion in cloud and infrastructure obligations over the next decade.
