Josh Babarinde Urges Liberal Democrats to Challenge Big Tech

President of the Liberal Democrats Josh Babarinde called for the party to adopt a more combative approach to challenge big tech and crypto billionaires. Speaking ahead of the party's annual conference in Brighton, the MP for Eastbourne urged members to "flip the table over and rise up" to break the status quo and return power and money to the public.

Babarinde argues that the party must expand its electoral reach beyond middle England strongholds by improving digital campaigning to match its ground game. He intends to use his presidency to develop a new strategy to help the party reach new heights.

The push for a strategic shift comes as the Liberal Democrats remain stagnant at approximately 11% in recent polls, despite holding 71 MPs following the 2024 election. The party's leadership, including leader Ed Davey, has faced challenges in commanding media attention compared to political rivals.
