Indian Security Forces Detain Protesters and Party Leader in Delhi

The Government of India conducted a sweeping crackdown on peaceful Gen Z protests in Delhi on October 10. Security forces deployed tens of thousands of personnel to patrol the city and utilized drones to monitor and manage the demonstrations.

The operation resulted in the detention of numerous youth protesters and the leader of the Cockroach Janta Party. To further stifle the movement, the government implemented internet shutdowns across the area.

Protesters characterized the crackdown as an environment where getting detained has become the primary method of exercising their right to protest.
