Hezbollah Distributes Financial Aid to Displaced Lebanese Citizens

Hezbollah began paying financial assistance to Lebanese residents in the Nabatieh region whose homes were destroyed during the recent conflict with Israel.

Hezbollah began distributing the first tranche of financial aid on Monday to Lebanese citizens displaced by its recent war with Israel. The assistance targets residents of the Nabatieh region in southern Lebanon whose homes were destroyed or rendered uninhabitable, as well as those in Israeli-occupied areas without housing options.

The group previously announced that housing-related aid would be capped at $14,000 per year, delivered in four installments. This distribution follows a conflict that began on March 2 in support of Iran, which resulted in the damage or destruction of over 290,000 homes.

The aid effort continues despite U.S. economic sanctions on Iran and a disarmament campaign by Lebanese authorities to restrict the group's funding and weapons channels. Violence in southern Lebanon has decreased since June, following a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran and a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
