Houthi Projectile Attacks Injure 11 Civilians in Najran

The Houthi group launched a projectile attack on civilian targets and infrastructure in the southern Najran region of Saudi Arabia on August 6, 2026. Major General Turki al-Malki, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, reported that 11 civilians were injured in the strikes. The victims include seven Saudi nationals, including a woman and a four-year-old child with second-degree burns, as well as residents from Yemen, Egypt, and Pakistan.

The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen characterized the random firing of projectiles as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and customary law. The coalition's Joint Forces Command stated it will continue to implement deterrent measures to protect civilians from further attacks.

Jasem Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, condemned the attacks as terrorist crimes and a threat to regional and global stability. The Gulf Cooperation Council affirmed that the security of Saudi Arabia is integral to the security of all member states and expressed full support for measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
