Israeli Forces Detain 95 Palestinians in West Bank Raids

Israeli forces detained or interrogated 95 Palestinians during overnight raids across the West Bank, targeting former prisoners and their families in several cities.

The Israeli military detained or subjected approximately 95 Palestinians to field interrogations during overnight raids across the West Bank ending Thursday morning, October 8, 2026. Operations were concentrated in Aqaba, Madama, Yatta, Jenin, Bethlehem, and al-Bireh. In Qalqilya, troops targeted former prisoners and their families, ransacking dozens of homes, including that of Muayyad Shaaban, head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Society reported that the raids involved physical assaults on residents and the destruction of household property. The society linked these actions to a broader system of control and a surge in settler attacks during the olive harvest season.

Conflicting data exists regarding the scale of detentions since the start of the war in Gaza. The Palestinian Prisoners' Society documents over 26,000 detentions in the West Bank, while the Cabinet of Israel reports 46,000 detentions and interrogations. The Prisoners' Society attributes this discrepancy to Israel including field interrogations in its total count.
