Turkish Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding with CFM International in Istanbul to acquire and service more than 600 LEAP-1B engines. The agreement provides 300 engines to power up to 150 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and establishes long-term services for the airline's entire LEAP-1B fleet.
The partnership includes a material services agreement to support Turkish Technic in building a new state-of-the-art engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in Türkiye. This initiative is designed to create an open maintenance ecosystem and bolster local technical capabilities.
GE Aerospace Chairman and CEO Lawrence Culp, Jr. and Safran CEO Olivier Andriès represented the joint venture during the signing. The strategic move aims to increase operational efficiency and support the continued expansion of the airline's global network.
