Alibaba Cloud Launches Paris Hub and Agentic AI Services

Alibaba Cloud launched a new cloud region in Paris, France, featuring two availability zones to support growing demand in retail, sports technology, and AI-powered creative platforms. This infrastructure establishes France as the company's third European hub, following existing operations in the United Kingdom and Germany. The Paris region provides elastic computing, storage, and security services designed to comply with European data sovereignty and privacy regulations.

Along with the physical expansion, the company announced it will introduce a suite of agentic AI services for European clients in the second half of 2026. These upcoming offerings include the AgentRun development platform and the STAROps operations platform.

The expansion is part of a broader regional strategy that includes strategic partnerships. Alibaba is collaborating with SAP to accelerate digital transformation and has entered a multi-year agreement with the Union of European Football Associations to deploy AI for content management and fan engagement.
