JLR Unveils All-Electric Range Rover GT for 2027 Launch

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has announced the Range Rover GT, an all-electric grand touring sedan and the fifth member of the Range Rover family. Scheduled for a 2027 release, the GT is the first model to utilize JLR's new Electric Modular Architecture (EMA). The vehicle departs from traditional boxy SUV styling in favor of a low-slung, four-door fastback silhouette. While it will launch exclusively as an EV, JLR plans to introduce hybrid options later in the vehicle's lifecycle.

Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Range Rover, described the GT as the brand's most car-like creation, designed to blend long-haul refinement with retained all-terrain capability. The interior adopts a reductive, leather-free design, replacing traditional materials with sustainable woven textiles, wool-rich blends, and synthetic fabrics. The cabin minimizes physical buttons, relying instead on a 13-inch central touchscreen, a driver's display, a head-up display, and voice controls powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The Range Rover GT will be manufactured at the Halewood plant in the United Kingdom. It is positioned in the lineup above the Evoque and Velar, but below the Range Rover Sport and the flagship Range Rover. In a related announcement, JLR revealed an all-electric Range Rover Sport featuring a 118kWh battery and a 530km range, which is expected in showrooms by the end of 2026. A full production reveal for the GT, including pricing and specifications, is expected by early 2027.
