Indian Equity Indices Slip Amid Mixed Corporate Gains
Indian equity indices recorded narrow losses on August 25 as corporate developments drove mixed movements for individual stocks.
Indian equity indices experienced slight declines on August 25, 2026. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 0.07% to 77,314.46, while the Nifty 50 dropped 0.19% to 24,173.95. Despite the overall negative market breadth, the Nifty Media index rose 0.57%.
Afcons Infrastructure shares increased 2.30% after receiving a Rs 335.50 crore arbitral award against the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority. In the technology sector, Sigma Advanced Systems reached a 5% upper circuit following a long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce valued at approximately Rs 1,600 crore.
Healthcare stocks also saw movement as Entero Healthcare Solutions surged 8.38%. This increase followed a bulk deal on August 24 in which 3P Investment Managers acquired a 2.5% stake in the company.
