CoreWeave Launches Three Data Centers in Indonesia
CoreWeave is expanding into the Asia-Pacific region by launching three company-owned data centers in Indonesia to support local AI compute demands.
CoreWeave announced on Tuesday the launch of three data centers in Indonesia, marking its first physical presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The company will own and operate all three sites, adding 360 megawatts of contracted power to its global network.
The expansion aims to support Indonesia's AI ambitions by providing enterprises and governments with AI compute located close to their data and users. To facilitate this, the company intends to build and train a local team to manage the facilities.
This move follows a period of rapid global growth, with the provider operating 49 data centers worldwide as of March. CoreWeave plans to spend between $31 billion and $35 billion on capital expenditures this year to meet the continuing surge in demand for AI cloud capacity.
