Pakistani Security Forces Kill Civilian in Balochistan Shelling

Pakistani security forces killed at least one man and injured several others, including women and children, during shelling in the Drakhalaw-Gaslaiti area of Wadh in the Khuzdar district. Following the death of Abdul Qadir, local residents staged a highway sit-in protest demanding accountability and an impartial investigation into the violence.

Concurrent with the shelling, the Military of Pakistan imposed curfews and internet shutdowns in several regions, including Khand Kotcha, Zehri, Naushki, and Jiwani. In Khand Kotcha, the Frontier Corps reportedly engaged in indiscriminate firing on passenger buses.

Naseem Baloch of the Baloch National Movement condemned the attacks and called for international monitors to access the region. The human rights organization Baloch Voice for Justice denounced the security measures as collective punishment, asserting that the state has a constitutional responsibility to protect its citizens.
