OpenAI Data Center Head Chris Malone Departs Amid Executive Exits

OpenAI head of data centers Chris Malone has left the company as part of a broader wave of high-level executive departures.

The head of data centers at OpenAI, Chris Malone, has left the company. His departure follows a series of high-level executive exits over the last several months, including product chief Kevin Weil in April, core business lead Fidji Simo last month, and executive Brad Lightcap earlier this month.

To manage computing capacity and data center initiatives, including the leasing of entire facilities, OpenAI has appointed a chief technology officer to lead the infrastructure team. A company spokesperson stated that the infrastructure organization was reorganized earlier this year to support the scale and pace of the company's work.

In further leadership changes, OpenAI named Dali Rajic, president and COO of Wiz, as its second chief revenue officer in less than a year. Rajic replaces Denise Dresser in the role.
