Bending Spoons Acquires SaaS Firms With Berkshire Hathaway Backing

Bending Spoons is acquiring undervalued SaaS companies like Airtable and Miro using a $900 million investment from Berkshire Hathaway.

Holding company Bending Spoons is acquiring software-as-a-service companies that have seen valuations drop due to the rise of artificial intelligence. The Milan-based firm recently received over $900 million in investment from Berkshire Hathaway, including a $330 million stake disclosed on October 15, 2026.

The company focuses on long-term profit generation rather than eventual exits, a strategy that involves implementing deep cost cuts and product modifications. This operational approach has resulted in significant layoffs, most recently affecting a large portion of the pre-acquisition team at Airtable, which was purchased for approximately $1.3 billion. Other recent acquisitions include Miro for $1.36 billion, as well as Evernote, Vimeo, AOL, and Eventbrite.

In its first public earnings report, Bending Spoons revealed that revenue more than doubled to over $700 million. The firm's model relies on maintaining high switching costs and customer value during a period of industry instability caused by AI agents.
