South Korea Semiconductor Entry-Level Hiring Surges 47 Percent

Entry-level hiring in South Korea's semiconductor industry increased 47% during the first half of 2026. Data from the recruitment platform JobKorea indicates that entry-level roles now account for 12.2% of all semiconductor job postings, the highest proportion in five years. This trend represents a shift away from the industry's historical preference for experienced personnel.

Total semiconductor job postings grew 20% year-on-year, outpacing the 14% average growth seen across all industries. The surge was led by major chipmakers Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, as well as global firms Nvidia and Micron, both of which increased their job postings by approximately 50%.

To address this rising demand, JobKorea expanded its High Tech recruitment service, providing applicants with real-time access to 5,000 job postings and updated career content.
