Kim Jong Un awarded state commendations to defense researchers for developing exclusive technologies to strengthen North Korea's military deterrence and combat weapon systems.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, awarded state commendations to scientists, researchers, and officials from major defense research institutions on August 29. During a meeting at the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee headquarters, he presented honors including the DPRK Hero and Gold Star Medal, the First Class Order of the National Flag, and the Order of Kim Il Sung.
The awards recognized the development of exclusive technologies designed to strengthen war-fighting capabilities and deterrence. These achievements align with modernization policies established at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. Kim described the advancements in military science and technology as "a great revolution that opened up a sure prospect for radically improving the modernity of our army's combat weapon systems."
