Owaisi Alleges Conspiracy to Delete Muslim Voters in Telangana

Asaduddin Owaisi accused the BJP of using fraudulent bulk applications to remove Muslim voters from electoral rolls in Telangana's Goshamahal and Musheerabad constituencies.

Election officials in Telangana rejected bulk Form-7 applications intended to delete voters from the electoral rolls in the Goshamahal and Musheerabad assembly constituencies. Asaduddin Owaisi, chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), alleged a deliberate conspiracy to disenfranchise Muslim voters, claiming that fraudulent submissions targeted 122 eligible Muslim voters at a single booth in Goshamahal, including an 85-year-old resident.

The ruling Congress party joined the accusations, alleging that a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) submitted objections against 30 electors in Musheerabad. In response, State BJP president N Ramchander Rao denied that party agents submitted the forms, stating the revision process is managed by government machinery.

District Election Officer R V Karnan stated the applications were rejected because they lacked signatures in Goshamahal or because the targeted electors were verified to be residing at their premises in Musheerabad. The Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana issued a memo on October 5 warning officials about non-genuine bulk applications and directing legal action under the Representation of the People Act. Owaisi has since urged the Election Commission of India to initiate penal action and a formal inquiry into the filings.
