Reform UK Donor Funded Defamation Suit Against Artist

Billionaire Reform UK donor Ben Delo provided a £350,000 commercial loan to Nina Power to fund a 2023 legal battle against performance artist Luke Turner. Power and writer Daniel DC Miller sued Turner for defamation after he accused them of antisemitism, while Turner filed a counter-claim for harassment.

The High Court dismissed both the libel action and the harassment claim. The presiding judge found that Power and Miller had engaged in online bullying and conduct characterized by a "whiff of threat and antisemitism." Following the trial, the court awarded Turner £1 million in costs.

Power was subsequently declared bankrupt, a process that revealed the loan from Delo was secured against her London property. Court-disclosed WhatsApp messages showed Power dismissing anti-racism as a "psyop" and expressing a desire to read Mein Kampf. Miller denied the accuracy of these reports, stating he is "proudly Jewish."
