Intel CEO Invests $10 Million Amid AI Growth

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan purchased $10 million in company shares following strong second-quarter revenue growth and a strategic $5 billion investment from Nvidia.

Lip-Bu Tan, the CEO of Intel, purchased 105,263 shares of Intel stock in early August 2026 at $95 per share, totaling approximately $10 million. The investment followed the company's second-quarter financial results, which showed total revenue of $16.1 billion, marking a 25% year-over-year increase and the strongest quarterly growth for the company in over 15 years.

Growth was primarily driven by the data center and AI segment, which rose 59% to $6.3 billion, and foundry revenue, which increased 31%. Despite these gains, the foundry segment recorded an operating loss of $2.1 billion. To fund additional manufacturing capacity, Intel launched a $20 billion equity offering. The company's recovery trajectory was further validated by a $5 billion investment from Nvidia as part of a strategic AI partnership.

Analysts indicate that Intel's EMIB packaging technology may attract TPU orders from Google. These developments occur as other executives make similar moves, such as Opendoor Technologies CEO Kaz Nejatian purchasing 27,625 shares of his company following a disappointing second-quarter report that saw home sales drop from 4,299 to 2,339 year-over-year.
