Robinhood Launches AI Trading Agents for Retail Investors
Robinhood released AI-powered trading agents to 29 million customers, enabling automated market research and trade execution using models from OpenAI and Anthropic.
Robinhood launched AI-powered trading agents for its 29 million customers during the company's annual HOOD summit at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. These tools allow users to conduct market research, build investment strategies, and execute trades for stocks, options, bitcoin, and prediction-market contracts using plain English instructions.
The platform integrates models from OpenAI, including GPT-6 Luna and GPT-6 Sol, and Anthropic's Opus 4.8. A forthcoming feature called Loops will allow the AI to monitor markets and execute strategies repeatedly without the user being logged in. To support these capabilities, the company is introducing 24/7 trading hours for select U.S. stocks and will launch perpetual futures for U.S. customers in the coming months.
To manage risk, the brokerage implemented guardrails such as trade limits and dedicated agentic trading accounts that isolate funds from main accounts. Over 150,000 customers have already opened these dedicated accounts, and the agents are currently transacting nearly 30 million times a day. CEO Vlad Tenev stated that these tools provide retail traders with capabilities previously reserved for hedge funds and Wall Street professionals.
