Pakistan Foreign Exchange Reserves Rise to $26.86 Billion
The State Bank of Pakistan reported a $111 million increase in total liquid foreign exchange reserves as of October 30, 2026.
The State Bank of Pakistan reported that total liquid foreign exchange reserves rose to $26.86 billion as of October 30, 2026, an increase of $111 million. Central bank reserves grew by approximately $39 million to $21.56 billion, while commercial bank reserves increased by $71 million to $5.3 billion.
This accumulation resulted from funding provided by multilateral institutions, commercial borrowing, and international bond issuances, including a Panda bond. The growth was further supported by disbursements from the International Monetary Fund's Extended Fund Facility and Resilience and Sustainability Facility.
Despite these gains, the central bank noted that regular external debt repayments continue to pressure holdings. In the interbank market, the Pakistani rupee showed marginal improvement against the US dollar, closing at Rs276.67.
