Apple Releases iOS 27 and macOS 27 Public Betas

Apple released the second public betas for iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate on July 23, 2026, alongside the developer beta 4 for iOS. These updates deploy the Apple Intelligence suite and a redesigned Siri featuring deeper AI reasoning, improved contextual understanding, and seven new voice options with diverse accents. The iOS update also introduces a liquid glass effect on lock screen toggles and relocates Lockdown Mode to a more prominent settings position.

macOS 27 Golden Gate, available for Apple Silicon-powered Macs, integrates Siri AI for conversational system-level tasks and introduces a Spatial Reframing tool in Photos. New AI-driven writing tools and the ability to create Safari extensions using natural language are also included. Performance improvements focus on faster app launches and refinements to the system search feature.

Additional releases include beta firmware for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3. While the current builds focus on stability, code references and new aspect ratio support in Phone Mirroring suggest future compatibility with foldable iPhone models. The official stable versions of the operating systems are scheduled for release in September and later this year. These rollouts occur while Apple is engaged in a legal dispute with OpenAI regarding trade secrets.
