Vice President JD Vance is leasing a portion of Wolver Hill Farm in Middleburg, Virginia, to serve as a supplemental home for his family.
JD Vance is leasing a portion of Wolver Hill Farm in Middleburg, Virginia, to serve as an additional residence for his wife, Usha, and their children. The property is part of a nearly 500-acre estate owned by a firm led by Charles Kuhn. Located approximately 40 miles from Washington, the rental is intended to provide the family with a sense of normalcy and will supplement, rather than replace, their official residence at the Naval Observatory.
The United States Secret Service has implemented security measures at the Middleburg location to accommodate the family. Personal attorney Chris Ashby stated that the vice president will pay fair market value for the rental, determined by comparable properties in the area.
Concurrent with the new lease, the Vance family has performed upgrades to the official vice presidential residence at 1 Observatory Circle. These improvements to the 72-acre property include the installation of a new fence and a new chicken coop. The family currently has three children and expects a fourth this summer.
