Financial Firms Deploy AI to Drive Growth and Efficiency

Robinhood, JPMorgan Chase, and PayPal are integrating artificial intelligence and new financial tools to capture growth amid a massive generational wealth transfer.

Several major financial services and software firms are deploying artificial intelligence to scale operations and attract new capital. Robinhood Markets is evolving into a financial super app, having increased total platform assets to $325 billion by November 2025. The company is launching Robinhood Cortex, a generative AI assistant for Gold members designed to help retail investors develop trading and investing ideas. Gold membership sign-ups have already grown 77% year-over-year to 3.9 million.

Other industry leaders are focusing on operational efficiency and infrastructure. JPMorgan Chase has deployed agentic AI to automate internal employee tasks, such as creating investment banking pitch decks, to reduce costs. Meanwhile, PayPal's PYUSD stablecoin has been integrated into AI infrastructure after USD.AI, a financing provider for AI companies, decided to denominate its loans in the stablecoin.

These strategic shifts follow a volatile 2025, which saw PayPal's stock price drop and trading volume declines for Robinhood. In the broader software sector, Palantir Technologies is seeing a surge in AI demand, reporting a 121% year-over-year increase in U.S. commercial revenue for the third quarter and growing its customer base to 911. These advancements align with a projected $80 trillion wealth transfer from baby boomers to heirs over the coming two decades.
