Anthropic Raises $30 Billion and Reaches $380 Billion Valuation

AI startup Anthropic raised $30 billion in a Series G funding round in February 2026, achieving a post-money valuation of $380 billion. The round was led by Singapore's GIC and Coatue Management, with significant participation from Microsoft, Nvidia, MGX, and Blackstone. This valuation more than doubles the company's September 2025 valuation of $183 billion.

The company reported an annual revenue run-rate of $14 billion, a 1,300% increase over 2025. This growth is largely attributed to enterprise adoption of its AI coding assistant, Claude Code, which generates over $2.5 billion in revenue. Anthropic also launched the Opus 4.6 model and the Cowork AI agent to target the enterprise and developer markets, recently attracting eight of the Fortune 10 as customers.

Anthropic intends to use the capital for frontier research and infrastructure expansion across Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, including $50 billion in planned data centers in Texas and New York. The company has hired the law firm Wilson Sonsini to prepare for a potential initial public offering in the second half of 2026.

Despite the growth, CEO Dario Amodei warned that the scale of compute investment could be "ruinous" if revenue projections do not materialize, noting that a shortfall of $200 billion against a $1 trillion target could lead to bankruptcy. Separately, Anthropic announced a $20 million bipartisan initiative to support U.S. political candidates who favor AI industry regulation, stating that AI companies must ensure technology serves the public good.
