Michigan Department of Transportation Launches 12 Major Road Projects

The Michigan Department of Transportation launched several new construction projects across the state for the week of August 3-8, 2026. The initiative includes 12 major road projects involving bridge repairs, resurfacing, chip sealing, and culvert replacements spanning from Genesee County to the Upper Peninsula.

A primary focus of the current work is the next phase of construction on I-69 within Genesee and Shiawassee counties. This specific phase requires a traffic shift and the closure of Miller Road ramps. These combined efforts are expected to result in various lane closures, overnight closures, and detours for motorists throughout the region.
