Ryanair Expects Boeing Max 10 Deliveries Despite FAA Delay
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary says a Boeing 737 Max 10 software glitch will not cause substantial delivery delays despite FAA certification setbacks.
The Federal Aviation Administration is withholding certification of the Boeing 737 Max 10 after identifying a software glitch in the aircraft's navigation system. Boeing reported that the issue could increase pilot workload during aborted landing attempts. While a permanent fix was originally scheduled for 2028, the manufacturer is working to accelerate that timeline to resolve the safety of flight concern.
Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, stated that the airline does not believe the issue is significant or will lead to substantial delivery delays. Ryanair expects to receive its first 15 Max 10 aircraft in the spring of 2027. These deliveries are part of a larger order for 150 jets designed to increase the carrier's overall capacity by 2 to 3 percent.
