Apple Prepares AI Hardware Cycle for 50th Anniversary
Apple Inc. is upgrading its hardware and Siri capabilities to drive a major AI-driven device upgrade cycle starting in 2026.
As Apple Inc. marks its 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026, the company is positioning itself for a significant product cycle centered on artificial intelligence. To support AI-driven applications, Apple is upgrading iPhones, Macs, and other hardware with increased memory and processing power. Reports indicate the development of a foldable iPhone and a touchscreen MacBook as potential catalysts for consumer upgrades.
Analysts from Wedbush Securities, including Dan Ives, maintain an outperform rating and a $350 price target for Apple stock. Wedbush forecasts the company's fiscal 2026 revenue at $461.5 billion, suggesting that the shift toward AI-capable devices will trigger a new wave of sales. The firm further projects that Apple may launch an AI subscription service by 2027.
Apple is expected to detail its comprehensive AI strategy at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Expected announcements include a Siri overhaul utilizing Google's Gemini foundation model, enhanced personalization, new developer tools, and APIs. Despite the optimistic outlook, analysts note potential risks involving tariff exposure and intense competition within the Chinese market.
