Foxconn Leverages Global Network to Meet iPhone Duo Demand

Hon Hai Precision Industry is using 240 global sites to fulfill high demand for Apple's new foldable iPhone Duo.

Hon Hai Precision Industry, also known as Foxconn, is utilizing a global network of 240 sites across 24 countries to manage a production surge for the iPhone Duo. The foldable device, which launched in October with a price tag of US$2,000, sold out quickly in retail stores, leaving some online customers facing delivery delays until late January.

While the iPhone Duo is primarily assembled at the company's iPhone City campus in central China, Hon Hai is actively diversifying its revenue streams. The company's cloud and networking unit now represents 51% of its total sales as it shifts focus toward Nvidia-powered servers and AI-related hardware to reduce its financial reliance on Apple.

Rotating CEO Michael Chiang expressed confidence in the company's ability to fulfill holiday demand, citing the scale of their international operations. Apple Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan toured the production lines in October to oversee the rollout of the new hardware.
