Anthropic IPO Faces Scrutiny Over Cami Clark's Epstein Ties

A Wall Street Journal investigation revealed that Cami Clark, the wife of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, pitched a luxury porn company called Eddice to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein between 2011 and 2012. Clark served as an unofficial strategic adviser to Amodei for five years without a formal title or salary. The report indicates that efforts were made to scrub Clark's marriage and existence from the internet and from Anthropic's AI, Claude.

Clark is credited with introducing Amodei to early investor Eric Schmidt and has recently engaged with political figures, including Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, to manage the company's image. These disclosures come as Anthropic has confidentially filed for an initial public offering with a potential valuation exceeding $2 trillion.

The revelations raise questions regarding the disclosure of related-party arrangements and material influences on management in the company's SEC filings. This occurs while Anthropic is also challenging a supply-chain risk designation issued by the Trump administration.
