Mike Lindell Requests Recount in Minnesota GOP Primary Loss
MyPillow founder Mike Lindell is seeking a recount of the Minnesota gubernatorial GOP primary after losing to House Speaker Lisa Demuth.
Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow, announced he will request and fund a recount for the Minnesota gubernatorial GOP primary held on August 11. Lindell lost the primary to Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth by 11 percentage points, but he claims his investigators have already identified "irregularities" in the results.
Lindell told NBC News that he expects the cost for an audit and recount to reach upwards of $1 million and is urging supporters to help fund the effort. This challenge comes as Lindell faces significant financial difficulties, including unpaid property taxes and multiple judgments owed to voting machine companies Smartmatic USA Corp. and Dominion Voting Systems.
Former President Donald Trump previously expressed support for Lindell's candidacy on Truth Social, but he has not commented publicly since the primary loss.
