Anthropic Product Head Cat Wu Departs Before IPO

Cat Wu, the head of product for Claude Code at Anthropic, left the company on Friday. Wu served as a primary leader and evangelist for the tool alongside creator Boris Chernyshov, helping establish Claude Code as a significant product that increased the company's revenues and competitiveness against OpenAI.

In addition to her work on Claude Code, Wu oversaw Cowork, a tool designed for non-coding knowledge work. Her departure follows the exit of Thariq Shihipar, who left the company last month.

Wu announced her departure on X but did not specify a reason for leaving. The exit occurs as Anthropic prepares for an initial public offering scheduled for later this month.
