Tata Power Commissions 72.5-MW Solar Project in Rajasthan
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited commissioned a 72.5-megawatt solar project in Bikaner to supply green energy to Tata Steel.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited commissioned a 72.5-megawatt ground-mounted solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on August 27, 2026. The facility will supply green energy to Tata Steel through TP Vardhman Surya, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy.
The project utilizes 171,360 modules manufactured by TP Solar Limited. It is expected to generate 166 million units of energy annually, which will offset 118,856 tonnes of carbon emissions as part of the decarbonization efforts for Tata Steel.
This commissioning increases the total renewable utility capacity of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited to 12.3 GW. Of this total, approximately 7 GW is currently operational, while 5.3 GW remains under implementation.
