Saudi-led Coalition Targets Houthi Missile and Drone Resources
A Saudi-led coalition launched military strikes against Houthi drone and missile capabilities while Yemeni government forces repelled a militia offensive in Al-Jawf.
A Saudi-led coalition launched a military operation on November 1, 2026, targeting Houthi resources specifically linked to ballistic missiles and drones. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki stated the strikes were a response to ongoing Houthi attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, as well as threats to shipping lanes in the southern Red Sea.
Simultaneously, the First Division of the Yemeni Emergency Forces repelled a Houthi offensive on the Huwayshian front in Al-Jawf Governorate. Government forces reported significant militia casualties and the destruction of Houthi equipment during the engagement.
These actions are part of a broader military escalation that resumed in July. This includes Operation Dawn of Yemen, launched by the Government of Yemen on October 5, which aims to retake the capital, Sanaa, and restore state institutions.
