Porsche Reports 1.74 Billion Euro Profit Recovery
Porsche reported an operating profit of 1.74 billion euros for the first nine months of 2026, recovering from severe losses linked to electrification costs.
Porsche reported an operating profit of 1.74 billion euros for the first nine months of 2026, a significant recovery from the 40 million euros earned during the same period last year. The previous year's results were heavily suppressed by 2.7 billion euros in costs stemming from a halted electrification strategy.
This financial rebound serves as an initial test for CEO Michael Leiters, who took office at the start of the year. Leiters is executing a turnaround plan that emphasizes downsizing, a strategic retreat from the Chinese market, and an increase in the production of exclusive, high-margin customized models. As a result of these shifts, the operating return on sales climbed to 6.9%, rising from a record low of 1.1% in 2025.
The recovery occurs while parent company Volkswagen Group and subsidiary Audi undergo broader restructuring efforts triggered by declining sales in China.
