Vietnam and Poland Establish Strategic Partnership to Boost Trade
Prime Ministers Le Minh Hung and Donald Tusk established a Strategic Partnership to increase bilateral trade to US$6 billion by 2030.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung of Vietnam and Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland established a Strategic Partnership during official talks in Hanoi on October 26, 2026. The agreement includes a Joint Statement and an Action Plan for 2026–2030 designed to elevate cooperation across trade, investment, science, technology, and defense.
Both nations pledged to increase bilateral trade to US$6 billion by 2030 by leveraging the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement. Under the deal, Poland will serve as a gateway for Vietnamese goods into Central and Eastern Europe, while Vietnam will act as an entry point for Polish and EU businesses into the ASEAN market. The partnership introduces new pillars focused on innovation, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
To support these economic goals, LOT Polish Airlines announced the resumption of direct flights between Warsaw and Hanoi to facilitate business and tourism. During the talks, the leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to the United Nations Charter, international law, and the 1982 UNCLOS regarding maritime security.
