TS Lombard Economist Forecasts 10-Year Treasury Yields Hit 8%
Steven Blitz of TS Lombard predicts 10-year Treasury yields will reach a long-run target of 8% following a surge to 5.30%.
Steven Blitz, chief US economist at TS Lombard, warns that 10-year Treasury yields are headed for a long-run target of 8% over the next few years. This projection follows a Wednesday surge where the 10-year yield reached 5.30%, marking the highest level since 2002.
In a research note titled "Original Sin Redux", Blitz argues that the rise in yields will exceed the 6% target anticipated by some Wall Street analysts. He identifies 5.75% as the immediate next plateau before the eventual climb toward the 8% mark.
