US Trade Commission Probes Luxshare Over Power Delivery Patents
The US International Trade Commission launched a patent infringement investigation into Apple supplier Luxshare Precision Industry following a complaint by Vicor Corp.
The United States International Trade Commission launched a Section 337 investigation on October 9 into Luxshare Precision Industry and its subsidiary, Dongguan Luxshare Technology. The probe stems from a complaint filed by Vicor Corp, a U.S.-based technology company, which alleges that Luxshare infringed on patents related to vertical power delivery systems and computing components used in data center power supply technology.
Luxshare, a major supplier to Apple Inc., responded in a stock exchange filing stating that the investigation is currently in a preliminary stage. The company expects minimal disruption to its operations, noting that the products under scrutiny have not yet entered mass production. Because of this, Luxshare believes the proceedings will have no material adverse impact on its near-term financial performance.
To address the allegations, Luxshare is assembling legal and technical teams to defend its interests and respond to the ITC's findings.
