Israeli Strikes Kill Palestinians Across Gaza Strip

Israeli forces conducted multiple airstrikes and demolitions across the Gaza Strip, killing several Palestinians and violating a 2025 ceasefire agreement.

The Israeli military conducted a series of airstrikes, drone attacks, and home demolitions across the Gaza Strip on October 15 and 16, 2026. In Gaza City, a strike on the al-Amin building in the al-Rimal neighborhood killed 33-year-old Reem Asaad Awad and injured two others, including a child. The military claimed the strike targeted a Hamas operative but provided no evidence and stated it is investigating the incident.

Further operations in Gaza City resulted in the death of Mahmoud al-Madhoun in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood and another fatality from drone fire in the Al-Tawam area. Additional attacks involved helicopters and artillery targeting residential buildings near Bahloul Junction and tents for displaced persons in al-Mawasi, west of Rafah. Military forces also used explosive-laden robots to demolish homes east of Gaza City and deployed heavy weapons north of the Bureij refugee camp.

These actions occurred despite a ceasefire agreement established in October 2025. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that ceasefire violations had killed 1,498 Palestinians as of Tuesday, with the toll rising to 1,505 by October 15. The Council on American-Islamic Relations called on the U.S. Congress to condemn the strikes.
