Singapore Exchange Begins Succession Planning for CEO Loh Boon Chye
Singapore Exchange CEO Loh Boon Chye announced the start of leadership transition planning as his contract expires in July 2027.
The Singapore Exchange has begun planning for a leadership transition following an announcement by CEO Loh Boon Chye on October 23. Loh, who has led the bourse operator since July 2015, informed the chairman that succession planning should commence because his current contract is set to expire in mid-July 2027. While the planning process has started, no specific departure date has been established.
The transition comes during a period of record financial growth for the organization. For the financial year ended June 2026, the exchange reported record earnings, featuring a 24.6 percent increase in adjusted net profit to S$759.5 million.
This leadership shift coincides with broader government efforts to reinvigorate the Singaporean equities market. These initiatives include a dual-listing framework with Nasdaq and a 20 percent tax rebate for primary listings.
