Anthropic Files IPO Prospectus Seeking $2 Trillion Valuation

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence laboratory behind the Claude AI tool, has released its prospectus in preparation for a potential initial public offering. The company is eyeing a valuation between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion, though it has not yet set a specific date for its market debut.
Financial data in the filing shows rapid growth, with revenue for the six months ending June 30 surging 1,300 percent to over $16 billion. The company reported that more than 50 percent of Fortune 500 companies currently spend at least $100,000 on its services.
The prospectus also outlines significant risks, including a history of financial losses and the possibility that its AI models could present "catastrophic or existential risks to humanity." Market analysts have noted that recent record-breaking debuts, such as the June IPO of Space Exploration Technologies, often see price declines within the first three months of trading.
