ASML Becomes Europe's Most Valuable Listed Tech Company

ASML has reached a valuation of nearly $700 billion, driven by AI demand and its monopoly on extreme ultraviolet lithography machines.

The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML has become Europe's most valuable listed technology company. Its valuation reached nearly $700 billion following a 60% surge in share price this year, fueled by the global artificial intelligence boom and the company's monopoly as the sole provider of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines.

Analysts are now evaluating if the firm can become Europe's first trillion-dollar company. This growth depends on continued data center spending by hyperscalers and the execution of production expansion plans. Opportunities include a shift toward EUV systems by memory chip manufacturers such as Samsung and SK Hynix, as well as new projects like the Terafab facility planned by Elon Musk in Texas for Tesla and SpaceX.

However, the company faces risks from the U.S. MATCH Act, which could restrict equipment sales and servicing in China. This is a significant concern as the Chinese market is projected to provide 20% of the company's revenue in 2026.
