Delaware County Elections Director Jim Allen confirmed poll worker staffing and machine security measures ahead of the November 3 General Election.
Delaware County Elections Director Jim Allen announced the completion of final preparations for the General Election on November 3, 2026. To mitigate staffing emergencies, the county secured more than 100 surplus poll workers. Allen confirmed that all voting machines passed initial testing and announced that the office will conduct a hash test after the election to verify that encryption software remained unaltered.
Absentee ballot requests totaled 61,000, a decrease from 66,000 four years ago, though the return rate has already reached 76%. Ballots will be processed at the Wharf facility in Chester starting at 7 a.m. on Election Day.
Election Board Solicitor J. Manly Parks and District Attorney Tanner Rouse stated that legal resources and community cooperation are ready to ensure a smooth process. Rouse noted that the county has a history of conducting elections correctly, while Parks indicated he did not expect any unusual occurrences during the vote.
