Rambus Reports Record $218 Million Q3 Revenue on AI Demand
Rambus reported record third-quarter revenue of $218.3 million, driven by increased demand for server memory chips and AI-related custom silicon development.
Rambus reported record third-quarter 2026 revenue of $218.3 million, a 22.3% increase year-over-year that exceeded analyst estimates for both revenue and earnings per share. The growth was primarily driven by accelerating artificial intelligence workloads, which increased demand for server memory chips. Product revenue specifically rose 22% to $114 million, fueled by the adoption of DDR5 registered clock drivers as server platforms expand to 12 or 16 memory channels.
To support AI operations, the company introduced a power management integrated circuit for LPDDR6 server memory architectures to improve power efficiency. Rambus also noted growth in high-margin intellectual property licensing as chipmakers and cloud providers develop custom AI silicon. Despite these gains, the company faces some margin pressure and industry-related concerns regarding AI dynamics.
Management provided fourth-quarter guidance that modestly exceeds consensus expectations. The company maintains a strong balance sheet with no long-term debt and plans to increase inventory to support customer product ramps. Financial leadership indicated a strategy to return 40% to 50% of free cash flows to shareholders over time.
