Delos Data Raises $100 Million for AI Networking Chips

Delos Data, a chip startup founded by former Intel Corp employees, raised $100 million to develop specialized network chips and software for AI data centers. The company aims to increase data transfer speeds and flexibility for infrastructure that utilizes a mix of computing chips from providers such as Nvidia, Cerebras Systems, and Advanced Micro Devices.

This hardware is designed to support the industry shift from training AI systems to deploying AI agents that perform specific tasks for users. The funding round included investments from venture capital firms including Playground, Matrix Partners, Socratic Partners, Capricorn, Matter Venture Partners, IAG, and DYNAMIQ.

Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Dan Daly noted that while the future infrastructure architecture for agentic AI remains unknown, the company can provide the fastest way to move data. Investor and former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger highlighted the current inefficiency of high-performance hardware that remains idle while waiting for data to communicate effectively.
