PDP State Chairmen Demand Probe into Rival Turaki Faction

Austin Nwachukwu and PDP state chairmen called on security agencies to investigate a rival party faction led by Tanimu Turaki for forgery and impersonation.

A forum of the Peoples Democratic Party state chairmen and the Federal Capital Territory chairman, led by Austin Nwachukwu, called on security agencies to investigate a rival faction headed by Kabir Tanimu Turaki. During a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the forum accused the Turaki-led Interim National Working Committee of forgery, impersonation, and misrepresenting court judgments to claim legitimacy.

The chairmen urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to publicly distance himself from the Turaki group, claiming the faction is using his name without consent to falsely present him as the party's 2027 presidential candidate. The forum asserted that the National Working Committee, headed by Chairman Abdulraham Mohammed and Secretary Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, remains the only recognized leadership. This official body has nominated Senator Sandy Onor as the presidential candidate.

Additionally, the group appealed to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to review a specific building in Garki, Abuja. The forum alleges that the rival group uses this location to coordinate activities that could disrupt public peace.
